Business settings and activity
Name, time zone, alerts, the activity log, and deleting a business.
Settings has a page for each part of your account: General for the business, People, Activity and Billing for owners, and Your account for your own sign-in and alerts.
General
Everyone can see the business's settings, but only owners can change them. Anyone else sees Only owners can change these settings.
When you change something, a bar at the bottom says what you changed, like You changed the name. Press Save Changes to keep it, or Discard to put it back. Saving shows Settings saved.
Business
- Name: your business's name, up to 100 characters.
- Web address: where you and your team sign in, like
yourbusiness.pixigns.com. Press Copy to copy it to share. To change it, contact support. - Time zone: the clock your screens follow. Schedules, opening hours, TV times, countdowns, urgent message end times and the activity log all use it. US time zones are listed first, then every other.
- Currency: how menu prices typed as a number show. With US dollars, 12.50 shows as $12.50. A price typed with its own sign shows as typed.
Playback
- Default playlist: plays on any screen that doesn't have its own playlist, group or location playlist. See Groups and locations.
- Software updates: your players update themselves overnight, between 2 and 5 am. Choose Stable, or Early releases to get new versions a few days before everyone else. It saves straight away: Saved. Your screens hear it at their next check-in. A screen can have its own choice in its details in Screens.
Offline alerts
Owners see this section:
- Email after: how long a screen has to be offline, while its location is open, before the email goes out: 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours.
- Also email: up to 10 more addresses, one per line, for people who don't sign in to Pixigns.
See Offline play and alerts for how alerts work.
Canva
Where Canva is offered, this shows who connected your Canva account and when, and whether it needs connecting again. See Canva.
Your account
This page is just for you. Owners, editors and viewers all have it:
- Email: the address you sign in with, with Google or a code sent to it.
- Your role here: owner, editor or viewer.
- Offline alerts: tick Email me when a screen goes offline to get alerts, or untick it to stop them. It saves straight away. Your choice is yours alone; everyone else chooses for themselves.
- Businesses: every business you belong to, with links to the others.
- Sign Out.
Activity
Activity shows who changed what in the last 90 days, newest first: for example Published Breakfast (version 3) or Added playlist Lunch, with when and who. Only owners can see it, and it comes with the Premium plan.
- Filter by Person, and by Kind: Publishing, Playlists, Files, Screens, Messages, Menus, Designs, People or Settings.
- It shows 50 changes at a time. Press Older for more, and Newest to go back to the start.
- Times are in your business's time zone. The same change made several times in a row shows once, with how many times.
- It records what people do: publishing, playlists, files, screens and their TVs, schedules, groups, locations, messages, menus, people, and settings. It records what changed, not the content: an urgent message's words, for instance, aren't kept. Work Pixigns does by itself, like checking a new file, isn't listed.
Billing
Owners see the business's plan and how many screens it pays for, and choose or change a plan. See Plans and billing.
Delete your business
At the bottom of General, owners can delete the business. This removes every screen, playlist and file, and everyone loses access. It can't be undone from the admin.
- Press Delete Business.
- Read how many screens, playlists and files will go.
- Type the business's name to confirm, then press Delete Business.
The address then says This business is being deleted, and everything is erased within a minute or so. Its screens stop playing and show a new code, ready to be added to another business. Backups are kept for 30 days, then they're gone too.
If you pay for a plan, deleting the business cancels it. If you only want to stop paying, cancel the plan in Billing instead; your screens keep playing on Free.
If something goes wrong
- “Only owners can change these settings.” Ask an owner, or ask them to make you an owner in People.
- “Activity comes with the Premium plan.” An owner can choose Premium in Billing.
- “Your session has ended. Reload the page to sign in again.” You were signed out while the page was open. Reload and sign in; then make the change again.
- A change says it didn't go through. The admin couldn't reach Pixigns. Check your internet connection and try again.
Still stuck? Email support@pixigns.com with your business's address and the screen's name, and we'll help.
