People and roles
Invite your team as owners, editors, viewers or staff.
Bring your team into Pixigns so they can update the screens too, each with only as much access as they need. Only people you invite can sign in to your business. There are no passwords to share: everyone signs in with Google or with a code emailed to them.
The four roles
- Owner: everything editors can do, plus settings and people.
- Editor: edits and publishes content. Adds and removes screens.
- Viewer: can look at everything but can't change anything.
- Staff: marks menu items sold out and back on the Sold Out page, from a phone. Can't change anything else.

Invite someone
- Open People and press Invite Person.
- Type their Email.
- Choose their Role: Editor, Viewer or Staff.
- Press Send Invite.
You'll see Invited <their email>. They sign in at this address with Google or an emailed code. They get an email with your business's address. The first time they sign in there, the invitation becomes their membership, and People lists them as Active.
Until then they're listed as Invited, with the date the invitation expires. Invitations last 7 days. Beside an invitation:
- Resend sends them a new invitation.
- Cancel invite withdraws it.
New people are always invited as editors, viewers or staff. To make someone an owner, invite them, then change their role once they've signed in.
Change someone's role, or remove them
- In People, click the person.
- Choose their new role and press Save. You'll see, for example, <their email> is now a viewer.
- Or press Remove and confirm. They lose access at once. You can remove yourself the same way.
A business always keeps at least one owner. To step down as owner, make someone else an owner first.
Reading the People list
Each person shows their email, role, status, last sign-in and whether they get offline alerts. You can:
- Search by email.
- Filter by Role, and by Status: Active or Invited.
Offline alerts shows On or Off. Each person turns their own on or off in Settings, Your account; see Offline play and alerts.
Belonging to several businesses
One email can belong to several businesses, with a different role in each. Each business has its own address, and you sign in at each one. Settings, Your account lists your businesses, with links to the others.
People on each plan
| Plan | People besides owners |
|---|---|
| Free | None: inviting people comes with Basic |
| Basic | Up to 3: editors, viewers or staff, counting open invitations |
| Premium | Any number |
If something goes wrong
- “A business needs at least one owner. Make someone else an owner first.” You tried to change the last owner's role.
- “Basic includes 3 people besides owners.” Remove someone or cancel an invitation, or an owner can choose Premium in Settings, under Billing.
- “Inviting people comes with the Basic plan.” An owner can choose a plan in Settings, under Billing.
- Their invitation didn't arrive. Ask them to check spam, then press Resend. Check the email address is right; if it isn't, cancel the invitation and invite the right one.
- “That Google account isn't part of this business.” They signed in with a different Google account from the email you invited. They can use an email code instead, or you can invite that address.
- They can't find where to sign in. Send them your business's address (Settings, General, Copy), or point them to app.pixigns.com/find.
Still stuck? Email support@pixigns.com with your business's address and the screen's name, and we'll help.
